The Holt factor ...

... is missing. Beside his many attributes, he was our alpha-male, and our motivator on the pitch. BUT he had definitely reached his sell by date + now he has gone and we've got to move on. GH was a massive piece in the jigsaw at NCFC, tactically and psychologically. We have got to reinvent ourselves as a cogent footballing unit, especially offensively. It will take time. Think Snoddy sees himself as the new alpha-male. But he won't cut it if he pulls rank to take free-kicks and penalties and then misses them. I think we'll come good and turn it round soon, especially now Hooper is in the mix. But it isn't surprising we're not firing on all cylinders yet while the vacuum left by Holt's departure is still to be filled.
Enough turgid metaphors. I've got a ticket for Stoke and I'm looking forward to it - that's a game we can win.
