Other EPL clubs were reportedly interested in him late last season, which was partly why Brighton got rid. The idea that he'd be good enough if they'd gone up through the play-off lottery, but isn't because they didn't, is silly frankly.
He also has a far, far brighter, more positive approach than Hughton. In the case of any replacement, we need someone who is what Hughton isn't.
