Thanks' for the overview of what the CP must take into consideration before proceeding. But, and I think this is the point being made here generally on the Roth of All things. There seemed to be little in the way of evidence over and above the "victims" statement. Perhaps the CP blundered, it happens. It must be many men's' worst nightmare that something like this could happen to them. It certainly has crossed my mind from the years I spent doing voluntary youth work. What if some female did this to me? How could I defend myself (very hard to prove the negative) if 30 years on this kind of accusation was leveled at me?? IMHO, and given the time between the alleged event; the very fact that such "cases" are very topical (Yew tree) I believe that the CP has to take a belt and braces approach. And yes I know that it's likely that some guilty arsehole will never come to trial because of it; but this guy is already most likely ruined. The sniggering masses with their "no smoke without fire" thinking will ensure that.
