Hotmail Scam from below

One of my accounts has recently asked me to put in "the" special code to access. This came out of the blue with no previous warnings. Message says sorry for the inconvenience but its all about increased security.

It says put in the code number emailed to me via my account earlier. I hadn't received the email surprise surprise. I have a number within my address and the one they are quoting for where they sent the code is one digit out. Cilla Black again.

Oh well they say, send us all your details and they'll sort it out. Like f**k I will.

Have tried contacting Hotmail via other account that is working normally but can't get them to reply.

Don't want to write off the other account as some important stuff in there but feel let down.
