Amy beat me 6-0, 6-2. I had points for a game twice in the first set, but as soon as there was any danger she upped her game and I had no answer.
I decided to be more attacking in the second set and the first four games went against serve. But as I increased the pace on the ball so did Amy and once I had missed a game point for 3-2 up that was it.
She?s a lefty and as much as I tried to hit the ball to her backhand down the line it ended up on her Amy?s forehand as if my magical magneticism. Ball after ball was bashed to my left and it was just a matter of time before I made a mistake.
I was tempted to ask for a re-match but in football terms it was like a small club (me) playing a big club (Amy) in the FA Cup 3rd Round; the second time around the small club gets worked out and gets smashed in a replay.
