Problem is lots of bigots use comedy to hide their bigotry

like racist jokes etc

what I can't stand is when someone somewhere thinks because I'm white, I'm obviously going to naturally agree with their racist views (or jokes)

comedy with a bit of irony in which is actually funny (and may or may not involve people of different mental or physical states, race, gender, sexuality, whatever) is fine imo, (different tastes for different people) as long it's not a method for hidden underlying bigotry to get aired as far as I'm concerned

look at ricky gervais (definitely no bigot, unlike Jim Davidson and the like) he can make clever jokes about things people might usually refer to as racist or disabledist (if such a word exists)

take office for example, so many disabled or racist jokes, not meant to offend imo, same with his life's too short stuff where warwick davis is the butt of the jokes

I would think that as long as these people we're referring to as "different" (tbh we're all different in some ways but nevermind) don't feel offended by the comedy, what's the harm (BNP, EDL type jokes on the other hand, f**king disgrace!), another example, goodness gracious me, why can't people who deserve to be treated equally laugh at themselves like others can and do

I agree being PC is a fine line, sometimes we come close or slightly overstep the mark, but most educated people can see when a joke is more of a dig at a race or disability imo
