I bought one of these a few years ago, really pleased with the pictures,. Not light or small but quick to take good photos .also take lots quickly and in low light auto focus very quick.

Doesn't look like they make them anymore but I would replace it with something similar like

I also have very small compact camera for general use, good pictures but I still use the sony for holiday pictures .

Sugget you visit somewhere like currys/john lewis and try them out. the one thing I found main difference is how quick you can take a phots from switched off and how quick the auto focus works, as well as picture quality. The live view is also useful, I never use the viewfinder
