It's how the game develops rather than comparing the standard

Because the US has had a decent standard of players since the 50's, it's always been a case in point that they just need a structured league, and that will happen

The MLS appears to be set up, has interest and now is a league which can be taken seriously. The players on less wage learn with the big players until they earn a contract in Europe or better terms in the MLS

I like the MLS, I've berated it's standard for a few years, but not in the last 2 seasons. There's been a definite hike in quality. It's like one summer it was suddenly realised that the squads, coaches, infrustructure and crowds are all in place. It also seems to be realised by UK based players, that they have to perform out there, otherwise you're on the bench looking stupid

The US never embarrass at World Cups, it seems now they don't at league level, and they are matching the implied arrogance of the Mexican league (well paid, largely homegrown etc)

I wouldn't want to compare the standard, it has a format which works. They're never going to compete in a World wide champions league format to prove it to anyone either
