as much as I like hughton and think he's building something long term

I do think he has his preferred players who he will try to fit into a team even if some might not be playing in their most natural position.

Martin is a key player for us, but Whittaker deserved his starting place this week after his performance vs Everton. Which leaves the CB position with Seb out.

Similarly with the 4 CMs and the 1 "winger" (who only seems to cut inside) he was without Snodgrass (realistically, for 90mins anyway by the looks of it) and Elliot Bennett. Perhaps he's not convinced by Butterfield and Olsson (yet)?

As for the latter, Garrido has had his chance now, time to give the LB spot to Olsson to make his own if he's good enough
