Thoughts on the game and ratings..

7 - Ruddy - didn't have much to do.

8 - Whittaker - defensively OK and tried to get forward.

6 - Turner - bad penalty to give away.

5 - Martin - worst I have seen him play but to be fair he was playing out of position and even on the wrong side of central defence for him. He also had to cover for Garrido who in turn had to cover for Redmond.

5 - Garrido - mostly bad, but he was left exposed by Redmond who kept cutting inside and so also had a lack of passing options.

6 - Howson - was out of position wide on the right and was out of position in front of the back 4.

8 - Tettey - won the ball, retained possession well and got forward. However, he should have been instructed to play in front of the back 4 instead of Howson.

4 - Johnson - awful.

7 - Fer - disappointing that he lost the ball so easily with some bad passing. Won the ball a few times and showed a few glimpses of promise. Looked better when he dropped back into central midfield.

3 - Snodgrass - awful. Something must be wrong else surely he would have started the game.

5 - Redmond - so predictable, cut inside every time.

7 - Hoolahan - a lot better than last week v Everton.

5 - RVW - largely anonymous but he had no service.

7 - Elmander - won the ball a couple of times.

HOOTS:

1. Should have had Howson playing in the hole not wide on the right or in front of the back 4.

2. Should have made changes as soon as Hull went down to 10 players.

3. Should have tried Red on the right with Olsson on the left.
