I was disappointed with the result but felt we deserved more from the game. Against teams like Hull you have to be aware of the many qualities they have and you?ve got to be difficult to break down. This is a difficult place to come. We decided it was just a little too soon to risk Seb and Robert Snodgrass. It was a soft penalty to concede and after the sending off we were mindful that it?s often difficult to play against ten men. With a little bit more quality in the final third we might have created more chances.
I intend to play Ricky in the midweek game against Bury (although it will be a really tough game) as he has hardly kicked a ball in competitive action this season. I might try and buy another striker before the window closes as it makes people think I know something about attacking football. We won?t be rushing Hooper back; he might be ready by January.
I?m now off to check the tyre pressures on the coach as you must be aware of the dangers of road travel.
