I remember Elmander being good on football manager a few years ago..

Here's a pic of how they rated him, as you can see he's got great technical ability and can play as attacking midfield.

I know it's only a game, but I think it gives an insight into what kind of player he is. I think it's hughton has probably signed him to play as second striker rather than leading the line, probably as an upgrade of hoolahan.
