I don't think we are going to see any revolution in style. I guess Hughton is hoping we will take more of the chances that we create. Played some quite patient football at times trying to keep the ball moving and work an opening. Maybe he will play 442 at home against the weaker teams but I'm not convinced. It may also take him a while to work out his best team.
Wolfy looked a bit isolated at times. Didn't have to do much for his goal. Missed a 1 on 1 and didn't anticipate 2 whipped in crosses. It looked like they are still working out how to play to his strengths. Quicker through balls or over the top needed at times. His link up play was tidy though. His style was a bit languid though so hope the normals don't give him grief.
Fer and Redmond both looked good. Redmond lacked end product at times but eager to take people on. He and snod switched over a few times too. I thought Fer looked better off the striker. Won a few flick ons, linked play and created the goal. Think Fellaini instead of wes. Less impressed with his tracking when he dropped into the deeper dm role.
Defence looked ok but a few too many last gasp tackles and.blocks for my liking. Sociadad shaded the game overall. Bradders and. Howson both lost the ball in dangerous positions and turner and bun both had a couple of slips. Hopefully those sort of errors will be cut out by Everton and ruddy really has only got a slight tweak.
Hooper and wes didn't really get a chance to do much when they came on.
14000 attendance including a smattering of sociodad fans. It was also good to see wes larking about with both Redmond and Fer in the warm ups suggesting that they have settled in well and that wes is a top bloke. But we knew that anyway.
