regards your hypothetical plymouth comparison....

Had Britain/England "handed" Plymouth over to the Germans hundredes of years ago AND the residents of Plymouth WANTED to be German, so be it...but I'd expect them to pay German Taxes.....

actually, its not much different to those "kerno seperatists" who want an "independant cornwall"....except the majority of cornwall people (made up of many "migrants" to the area) want to continue to be a county in England......
