and as an ex-citizen of Gibraltar, it is a complex issue. The difficulty I have is that it's no longer used so much as a military base as a tax avoidance zone, which personally I find quite wrong. There is also a fairly lively drug smuggling route from Morocco.

Gibrtarians see themselves as Gibraltarian, I think, which might go back a generation to the days of Franco when they were quite ruthlessly isolated but also had a lot more freedom than neighbours across the border.
