I can't imagine for a second that we'd be in for him

He's been linked to much bigger clubs than us (return to Manure, for example). He's on the fringes of the England team, he's young, has loads of experience and for those reasons he's going to be really expensive (10m+) and on high wages.

I think Stoke would be able to pay him more than us, so staying where he is would probably be a better option for him.

I'd take him in a second (no laughing), but I can't see it.
