You're sposed to speculate

If I was them I would. Rain forecast later in the game and want to give our batsmen a difficult hour against the quicks today before hoping the spinners can bowl well tomorrow. They need to win this game so need to bowl us out twice - very unlikely we'll get five days of three sessions in due to weather so all in all if I were them I'd be getting on with it.

Of course I could be totally wrong. It wouldn't be the first time.
