Starting the answer to a question with "So, *brief pause*, ?"

Gets right on my teat ends.

Scientists are the worst for this. I used to listen to Material World w/Quentin Cooper on R4 on Thursday afternoons (it finished the other week, boo, but has been replaced with another pens programme, hurray, presented by Adam Rutherford who is Good) and without fail two of his scientist guests every week would start to explain stuff with "So, pause, what we did was blah blah blah".
