It's brilliant. Just superb.

Do the glacier hiking (loads of options, go to the tourist place in Reykjavik and there's squillions of different tours), the blue lagoon (there is an in-lagoon bar :-), the horse-riding (no really it's brillo pads - Icelandic horses are a separate breed and have a separate gait most horses don't have, I don't do horseriding ever but was persuaded to in Iceland and it was superb), see the big cathedral in Reykjavik.

Don't even think of buying clothes there. Literally four times the prices. Take layers - the weather is changeable and you'd expect "very cold" as a norm but sometimes it isn't and the weather changes a lot during the day. Someone said to me "if you don't like our weather, give it 15 minutes and it will be different" and that's about right.

Alcohol in bars is again very dear, though not as steep as the clothes, and most locals buy from the supermarket and drink at home because of this.

Really good choice of destination - have a great time. Northern Lights didnt' make an appearance when we were there - it's pot luck on any given night. Hope you get to see them.
