I was very comforted reading the link someone posted below of a Newcastle preseason game when Hoots was in charge. They lost 6-0 to Leyton Orient and the report talked about a terrible preseason and the possibility of Shearer taking over as manager. Newcastle then went on to storm the championship.

I know wins spread a feel food factor but I've seen enough preseasons to know the results don't foretell a lot in the coming season.
