A few thoughts from last night

I took advantage of the free rail fare included in the ticket,. Just as well that the 7 minute journey was free as it cost me ?5.50 to park at Lewes for three hours!

I liked the Amex, great view of the pitch, good local beer, Harveys and not that ubiquitous Doombar! The pies were truly dreadful! The pastry looked like cardboard and tasted like cardboard. I threw half away. Only issue was, should I use the recycling bin?

It was a good workout for the first 60 minutes and the first substitutions. Howson looked neat and sharp. He took his goal well and City looked comfortable, playing at a good tempo. Tetty went on an amazing mazy run, I hadn't seen him do that before.

I think it was the first time that I had seen Butterfield. Perhaps a bit harsh on a substitute, but he seemed to frequently give the ball away or get caught in possession.

Asked a few people on the train home who McNiel was. Most hadn't noticed that he came on for the last 5 minutes! Good to see youngsters getting a run out with the first team.

Brighton scored a cracking goal!
