I was of that view but have changed my mind

the problem is i don;t trust any combination without Basson whereas all of Martin, Bennett and Turner are ok alongside Bassong.

Bass seems to have various ailments that keep popping up. We therefore need another front line CB to take away that reliance on him I think and preferably one with a bit of pace.
