actually he got on my nerves a bit to be honest

the 'cheeky irritating chappy' bit wore a bit thin and he couldn't actually be bothered half the time (I mean to play football, not to wind up the opposition).
He always played a lot better when we were playing a glamour team or were on the telly. I remember him having a good game against Derby at home once and thinking it was unlike him to be making so much effort in a such a mundane game and then the next morning saw that the Scotland manager was in the crowd,

But I'll happily acknowledge I was in the minority!
