"general reluctance to use subs very early in games"

If you looked at the bench and saw the likes of Kane, Jackson and Morison(all players Hughton clearly didn't rate, even though he got Kane in himself) would you make a sub?

What i'm saying is, just like his so called negative tactics, I think his lack of subs was down to the fact he didn't think what he had on the bench could change a game. That's the reason we've spent so much this summer.
