More likely just an incentive offered at the time.

It's a tricky one, and a product of the success of the club and demand for tickets rendering regular membership pointless.

Last season you presumably got free regular membership, but in reality, what was that worth? How often did tickets for big games go beyond a couple of hours of being on sale to Super Members?

As a matter of principle I can see that it's disappointing, but I don't think you've really lost out on anything. Unless I'm missing something?
