Apropos of nothing on a dull day.

Think of the countries which are more "liberal"/"progressive" than the UK.

You're probably thinking of Scandinavian countries, or maybe dutcherland.

They've all got monarchs.

Whereas the countries with elected Heads of State tend not to be so "liberal"/"progressive" (and you get just another of the same kind of w**ker in the job, usually).

I've always found that an interesting irony.
