They settle for pleasing the loudest voices for the least important issues while grabbing whatever powers, privileges and money they can for themselves. David Nutt's dismissal as chief drugs advisor to the home secretary in 2009 is a top example of the former issue, but it's a discussion that really shouldn't appear on Wrath (especially as I whined about the cricket talk earlier).
