No way he has the technique in my view. That's why Root was always going to be a success (even though I suspect for a while he will be a bit inconsistent) because he is technically very good. Just needs to get forward a bit more early on in his innings.

Re Pieterson I do think you have a bit of a point. He needs to deliver and he owes us a big innings in one if the upcoming tests. I'm pretty confident he will deliver one though and whilst there is no obvious replacement I think it would be mad to drop him.
