Maybe we have, who knows? If we haven't I trust in Hughton and McNally's judgement that we don't think the player is worth what we are being quoted. We might have money to blow, but I certainly don't want to see it wasted.

2) "We don't want to go barrel scrapping" -

Really? When did we become so full of ourselves that signing players such as Maxi Lopez counts as scrapping the barrel? John Hartson was scrapping the barrel. Antoine Sibierksi was scrapping the barrel. For a club of our size, if Quags is our number 1 choice and we are unable to get him, I'm still pretty happy to settle for 3rd or 4th choice. The club are showing ambition, but sometimes it doesnt work out and you have to accept more realistic targets.
