these must be estimates

all the data about people who died in the last few days will not be collected yet. but yes, when there's a heatwave death levels rise, and it wouldnt take much of an increase in overall rates to come up with a few hundred extra deaths nationally

but i suspect many of these who get attributed to a heatwave may well have died anyway, just a couple of days later normally.
