...wouldn't that be a sign of taking a view on the availalble information, but then either reflecting further either on the basis of arguments others presented or simply taking more time, or taking account of new information, all of which are positive attributes?

I've never understood the obsession out of off of on here with catching people out when they change their minds. Most of us change our minds (e.g. re Turner) and it's a Good Thing.
