"Ajax has said that they have agreed on a 8 mil transfer fee, that is not a rumor. That doesnt mean the deal will go through though, Alderweireld himself has to come to an agreement first.
Ajax will be glad to sell him now, his contract ends halfway into the 2014 season. So the only real reason the deal will not go through if Toby decides to wait out the rest of his contract and leave on a free transfer, possibly to a bigger club. I dont think that is likely by the way, Ajax makes it a matter of principle to bench players that refuse to be sold or extend their contacts. I dont think Toby feels he is to good for Norwich either, unlike Toivonen who is in the same exact situation now."
