The "reserves" aren't exactly that by the way. They are the development squad. A bit like PSV 'B' and as of this year they will compete in the Dutch second division.

So yes, a come down and not good if you want to make a World Cup squad, but not quite as bad as "stuck in the reserves" would be over here.
