On 28 January 2013 it was announced that English side Everton of the Premier League had agreed a deal to secure the services of Leroy Fer.[20] However, on 30 January 2013, Everton announced that due to "extensive discussions with both the club and the player in the past 24 hours it became apparent that the transfer would not be going ahead", and finished the transfer dialogue.[21][22] On the 20th June Fer was in Everton F.C. training ground in talks about a possible deal with new manager Roberto Martinez.
