But the question is where is he going to go? I think the palace rumours are wide of the mark I can't see holt moving further away from the north and he is still likely to get first team football in Norwich so why go there anyway and I can't see holt stepping down a league.
I don't think it's about money and I think that if holt wants to finish his career elsewhere then it's fine. Actually the contract stuff from last season has placed us in a stronger position. We have 2 years left on his contract and therefore we can still demand a fee for him. And the ?30k wages mean that few teams in the bottom of the prem / top of championship can afford him.
The most sensible option would be of holt to go to Blackpool or Celtic. We get ?2 - 3 million and he gets a pst the back for his part in 70+ goals and 2 promotions
