Yes, I appreciate he?s been a top player for us but
He got his new contract and in all probability a decent pay rise, another signing on fee and an extra year. He was prepared to be sold to West Ham (I?m assuming it was them) to force the issue. If we sold him, given our limited budget there?s no way we could afforded a replacement that might have scored as many goals as Holty did in 11/12.
Now he wants to move away (would these stories have appeared if he wanted to stay?) and his contract he signed needs to be un-wound as he?s unlikely to be offered anything as decent elsewhere. We?re playing hard-ball with a fee. Holty doesn?t want to hand in a transfer request.
That?s the way it works (I think)
