Having read the Secret Footballer book (it's Kitson, right?) this doesn't surprise me

We don't see a tenth of what goes on to sign a player and he's probably waiting to see how many clubs meet PSV's valuation before playing them off against each other for personal terms. I don't blame him in the least for this - it's how any business would do it and if I was lucky enough to be in demand from three employers all at once I'd certainly talk to all three about package - it wouldn't be the deciding factor but it would be a major influence on the decision (the right workplace culture is very important to me and if I could afford to live on the wage I'd pick the place I was likely to be happiest/most engaged over the one that paid a little more but was likely to be dull/unpleasant).

Gawd, that was a ramble wasn't it...haven't even started drinking yet...better get to it I reckon...
