Elderson Echiejile

Norwich are being linked with a move for unsettled Sporting Braga left-back Elderson Echiejile after he indicated he wants to leave.

The Canaries are understood to hold a long-standing interest in the 25-year-old defender with some reports linking him to Carrow Road surfacing last summer.
But City boss Chris Hughton has since tied up a permanent deal for Spanish left-back Javier Garrido, who is settled in Norfolk, and a move for the Nigerian at this stage does appear unlikely.
Norwich travel to Portugal to play Sporting Braga in a pre-season friendly in August and that match could give Hughton and his staff a chance to see Echiejile at close quarters and assess whether or not he could be an option.
Echiejile is set to play for Nigeria against Namibia in a World Cup qualifier tonight.
