I seem to remember

Bassong was rumored to be underwhelmed by him being transfered to Norwich, and he looked pretty glum in all the pictures of him holding up the shirt/shaking McNasty's hand etc...

Since he joined, he has had a great attitude.

That seemed to work out well, so I wouldn't read too much into these things.
