If this was a case of the same number of A&E admissions but with rising waiting times, I'd follow your logic.

From my understanding (and a cursory read of the main stories on it at the moment) that isn't the case and there are a multitude of causes - lack of out of hours care from GPs, botched 111 service, increasing demand , aging population, and (yes) staff cuts etc.

So things that all parties (and nature) have contributed to and not just down to staff cuts.
