it's not just that

rugby is played in the main by fitter and stronger versions of you and me. But any kid who shows any signs of promise at an early age is patted on the head and encouraged from youth onwards, fostering a sense of entitlement and seen by many as a future earner. The kid rugby and football players grow up watching their role models, on the one hand showing respect to officials and the perceived spirit of the game and on the other aping the on-field behaviour of premier league stars.

By the time the young football players have reached first team age I'm sorry I'm listening to Bad News at the same time as trying to type this and I'm chuckling too much to make my point
