There's a lot of derivative elements to it, but that's what I find quite interesting: the way that they use the influences quite deliberately while at the same time it's very recognisably them. You have a point about the sources, and in many ways I quite agree, but I also think that they're using it knowingly as a kind of homage (to finish with the mot juste).
