You can change the mentality, but often it's not for the best in terms of results

It's also easier to make a team defensively well drilled and organised than it is to make them fluid/creative/exciting. One requires a basic manager plus hard working grafters whereas the latter requires a clever manager and skillful players. Stoke could bring in a clever manager but will the existing players be good enough to change their style of play? I'm not so sure...
