My methaneology may not be entirely scientific, and this was the most accurate of the three tables I did... however I've decided it's a very good indication as to how it'll all end up, and I will be employing the same number crunching techniques again next season when we're either bedwetting or (hem hem) chasing the Champions League. *internetwinkyface*
I always had nothing less than total confidence that we would stay up, despite saying many times that we would crawl across the line on our hands and knees. Admittedly, I wavered with a few doubts for the first time after the Villa game, but as soon as Swansea beat Wigan, the courage of my convictions were reaffirmed. Who'd have thought that we would end up getting off our hands and knees and jogging energetically across the line?
Everyone is entitled to their own view, and I certainly won't crow the 'told you so' to the bedwetting fraternity... but I do hope the more hysterical retards who slagged off the players, the manager, the tactics, etc etc will spend the summer in quiet contemplation. Yes it wasn't pretty at times. Yes it was bloody frustrating at times. We can all agree on that, but whatever happened to our mantra "KTF"? To finish 11th after all of the bile spouting nonsense from the spoilt little cry-baby supporters, in hindsight makes them look really rather silly and downright pathetic. What more do you want? Externally debt free. The highest finish in league football for twenty years. FA Youth Team Champions. Premier League football for a third consecutive season. Global awareness higher than ever before. More money coming into the club than ever before. The sky really is the limit. For some (and glad I avoided Canary Call last night) that's still not enough. Standing back from it all, perhaps the higher the stakes.... the more extremes of reaction you're going to get?
After the last eight days of outstanding success for the club, with the youths and the first team, never ever was there more indication that the spirit and togetherness as a team from top to bottom in the club is as strong and burning brightly more than ever. What great potential we have, and such an exciting future to look forward to.
Observations and rant over. Over and out. Roger.
