What a weird season

Say what you want, inflexibly hold whichever stubborn position you signed up to months ago, this has been a weird season.

If we had won at West Brom we would have finished eighth. For long parts of the season we were woefully short on confidence and conviction. And yet, barring the seasons when we finished 3rd, 4th and 5th, I can't recall another in top flight where we had so many results against the top teams. Plus we racked up our biggest top flight home win since 1984.

When Villa scored late on, I genuinely thought we were down. The writing was on the wall. I snapped out of it after Swansea won at Wigan, but for those few days...

And here we are. 11th. Fucking ELEVENTH. Scoring worldies at last season's champions. No-onde would have imagined this a fortnight ago... in a million years.

And we lost to Luton.

What a truly weird season.
