Also.......you could find out who operates the cameras. Police run cameras generally run under ACPO guidelines and they won't send a Notice of Intention to Prosecute unless you're doing 35 in a 30 zone, 46 in a 40 zone, 68 in a 60 zone and 79 on a dual carriageway (unless it was a particularly bad place, i.e. right outside a school at drop off time). They (again) generally go off at the correct speed limit to wind you up and make sure you're not naughty for a while.

BUt........Safety Camera Partnerships don't have to obey ACPO rules. So they could send it out for anything theoretically. Realistically, they must have some sort of leeway otherwise they'd be swamped by tickets but they won't say what.
