Zabeleta did a slide tackle, wrapping his foot around the Wigan player and got nowhere near the ball, making contact with the opponent. The fact he fell laye is irrelevant. It was a foul and a penalty.

Lee Dixon and the others all seemed to agree. Not sure why that's weird.
