Think Worthy's 'cluster bomb' approach to strikers just about worked in 2001-2 - you sign about 10 and then, even if you don't find a really good partnership, you at least have options. We had one very good striker in Roberts and then Abbey, Notman, Libbra, Nielsen and Rivers/McVeigh (if needed) would pitch in with something.
But then we had Holt and Mulryne in central midfield, too - a midfielder who could graft to win the ball ... AND ONE WHO COULD PASS IT! TO A TEAM-MATE!!! WELL!!! It all seems so obvious ...
