history is littered with players who have had one exceptional Prem season

(especially with the buzz of playing there for the first time) then returned to their natural level. That's one of the reasons for Second Season Syndrome. It might well be that the Holt, Wes etc performances from this season are actually their 'real' level and last year was just a flash in the pan. It might not. I don't know for sure, and nor should you.
