Are we heading for 42 points?

No.

You asked for a hypothetical position and I'm being generous with that. If we finish 15th or higher with 42 points then we have done okay.

I look at our performance and not that of the other teams, hence the whole 42 points thing. If other teams dreadfully under perform (Toon, Mackems) it doesn't make our under performance any better. If West Ham and WBA overachieve it doesn't mean 42 points is any worse.

That's not where I think we should be", as I said before 42 points would be "scraping an average season". Really we should be heading for 45, not unrealistic at all.

If we were bottom Hughton wouldn't be in a job. I know that you pride yourself on being the first to want him here, but you don't have to defend him like a son.
